The longtime partnership between CADBAS and Dassault Systèmes was deeply intensified in the summer of 2007. Out of this strong collaboration the product name "iMechX" emerged which is the name for PartExplorer embedded in the CATIA V5-environment. Since then the interface of PartExplorer/iMechX for CATIA V5 has strongly enhanced and is setting new standards for standard-part- and classification-systems.

iMechX is a unique mechanical application which has been developed especially for CATIA V5-users to support the »CATIA for Industrial Equipment Initiative« of Dassault Systèmes. With iMechX you get a solution package bringing immense benefit to your part- and product-design (design engineering efficiency). The focal issue is to offer a perfect CATIA-integration:

• Standards and catalogues: Automatic selection, positioning and alignment of fitting parts according to the surrounding construction. Standard parts contain a negative solid and publications. Changing or modifying the design will automatically re-select new parts.
• Technology platform for engineering catalogues (re-usable parts): Use the selection- and positioning-automatisms for your part spectrum. You can import self drawn parametric models includng design tables into iMechX. Here you can administer the models and put them into relation with existing libraries. This happens conform to your construction method in CATIA.
• PLM-integration: iMechX is ready for immediate use inside CATIA with or without ENOVIA SmarTeam-interface. Minimum requirement for iMechX is MD1 respectively CAT. Interfaces for ENOVIA VPLM, ENOVIA VPM and other PDM-systems are also available.
• All described modules and functions of PartExplorer are also elements of iMechX.
